creating linetypes

Using AutoCAD Help select Contents tab then Customization Guide. Select the Linetype/Hatch creation then Complex linetypes.

With the express tools is easy with the command mkltype

I have lost the ability to print drawings on acadr14.
When i go to print an autocad message box appears saying
"No plotter is configured"
My question is how do I reconfigure?
Do i need the relaod the auto cad package again?
If i do will it wipe may drawings i have sorted?
