hi.
i want to perform a creep analysis. Design temperature of the Vessel is 420C and our client want a creep analysis
T=420
Mat:516 70
Life Expectancy : 175000 hours.
i have studied Section III- NH . based on NH i have to do elastic analysis and compare it to Smt, which is time dependent allowable stress. the thing is that Smt values in this section are limited to stainless steel and some other alloys. carbon steel time dependent properties were absent.
i have searched internet and i could not find carbon steel allowable stress at 175000 h life.
is there a reason for this ?
how can i find time dependent allowable stress for carbon steel ?
if u have done creep analysis please be kind and guide me .
what other methods do you suggest ?
it seems that its not common to use carbon steel in creep condition and even ASME Does not suggest it. am i right ?
