Can anyone jog my memory about a system of small bore pipe fittings that I encountered several years ago. The system consisted of fittings with socket ends with an internal fluid o-ring and an external environmental o-ring. Between the o-rings, the bore of the fittings had serrated ridges to assist grip. After the pipe end was cut and inserted into the socket, a hydraulic jaw would be activated around the socket, crushing the serrations into the pipe end. The system was lauded on the basis that no hot work was required during installation. I cannot recall if these fittings were available for tube sizes. I recall the manufacturer being something like Deutscher, but I can't get a relevant Google hit on that name - perhaps it has been taken over and re-branded?

BillBurch,

Google "PYPLOK" to find current supplier.

At one time, Deutsch Metal Components was the source for Pyplok fittings. It does use an o-ring to effect the seal.

I'd suggest also looking at Lokring(r) fittings. (No o-ring used).

Hope this helps.

Victaulic makes a similar system called PressFit, using an o-ring.

Watch the price and availability of fittings and suitable pipe for any such system you choose. These factors can eat much of the perceived labour benefit.

The product you are talking about is Pyplok which is available in NPS, Metric and O.D. Tube configurations.
The original manufacturer was Deutsch Metal Componenets (DMC) of Gardena, Calif. but sold the product line along with the D-Lok (now AxiSwage)product to Tube-Mac Industires. Tube-Mac now manufactures and markets the fittings. You can get information on Pyplok at
