I've been told that you can't get a CSA rated globe valve. I need a 1" CL150 flanged globe valve for low temp service (-45 deg C), medium = natural (sweet) gas.

Has anyone heard of any globes valves like this that are CSA rated? Our preferred vendors are saying no but I thought I would reach out on this forum for more insight.

Thanks!

What I think you're asking is for valves with a Canadian Registry Number (CRN). These numbers are issued by each province. MANY manufacturers have CRNs for their gate, globe and check valves.

There are additional CSA requirements for fuel shutoff valves:

Here is some detail on CRN requirements across Canada.
Valves can be qualified to standards listed in B31.3 table 326.1, B31.1 table 126.1, and Section VIII,div. 1 UG-44. If none of the standards in those tables apply, it is possible to qualify your valves to the piping code using code equations (such as the design section of B31.3 or B31.1), or failing applicability of code equations by testing, per Section VIII, div. 1, UG-101, or per testing requirements of the most applicable listing standard. Note that tests need to be witnessed by an ASME national board AI, with a new construction class commission, or a Canadian safety Authority authorized inspector.
