Hello All,

I need to calculate output current of Mg anode which protects the pipeline.
I know the area of the anode. Where can I find current density for Mg (magnesium) to soil? (we know the soil resistivity)

Thanks for your help

For a CP design, the design standard will specify a current density to be achieved on the pipe surface. For example, ISO 15589-1 requires between 0.08 to 0.9 mA per square metre dependent upon pipe coating and design life. This value is then used to determine the current output requirement of the anodes.
