Custom Properties Question

Recently loaded SW Office 2004. Since the install I have been unable to add items to the custom properties list. Before the install I had Length, Width and Thickness fields specifically needed for our BOM. Now the list comes up blank and only shows the default items if the edit list box and ok are selected. Have attempted to add them back to the list but still will only display the default items.

Am I missing something simple here? Any help would be appreciated
