Hello everyone

My question is, how do i customize a paper size in Autocad 2000. See, i know i can go 30x42 ( i believe it is size E), but i need to go a little longer like 30x50. I know my printer can do this, cause' i could do it when i had Autocad 14. I just updated to 2000, a month ago.

Thanks for any suggestions

Hi,
It will depend on your your actual printer drivers but you may be able to do it. In the FILE >> PLOTTER MANAGER window, look for the printer that you want to change. If it is not listed, you are probably using system printer settings that you cannot change. You will need to create a new printer setup for AutoCAD (Add-A-Plotter Wizard). After the printer is set up, you should be able to edit the device and document settings of the printer. If the driver allows, a Custom Paper Sizes area should be in this window. You will need to experiment with your size and capabilities, but this is how you would add a custom size to your paper list.

Juice,

- Type plot in the command line,
- in the plot dialog box, choose the plot device tab
- in the plotter configuration make sure u r choosing your plotter name
- click properties
- choose the Device and documents settings Tab.
- Expand the paper-defined sizes & calibration option if its not Expanded ( a plus sign shows means it can be expanded , if minus sign means it is expanded already )
- choose Custom paper size, then click add.

hope that helps

I had a similar problem with my HP DesignJet 650 C. I wanted to create a paper size for a 36" roll of paper, 36" x 144". If I used a HP plot driver I was not able to create a paper that size. I had to load the AutoCAD plot driver, then it allowed me to create any size paper. By the way, we just got a new Network Server and I lost my paper size. When I finially created my setting for my plotter, my text came out as solid rectangles. Under the properties for that plotter there was a Graphics setting which effected the text. I change it from true type as text to true type as graphics.

Hoe this helps.

By the way I'm using A2K.

I have done what was listed in cparnell's post, and it won't let me ADD...the box to select it is totally grayed out...I have no option.

Any ideas???
