Customized ToolBox Issue

We have a customized ToolBox. We copied the ANSI metric standard and then went in and selected our sizes and then assigned part numbers and descriptions to match our ERP system. This works great and was worth every bit of the effort to set it up. However, we have an issue I am hoping someone can help with.

We added two new low head height SHCS fasteners, M5LH and M6LH. We did this in TB by copying all the TB parameters for the M5 and M6 to the new LH-named sizes except we changed the head height accordingly. When we go to insert these fasteners in an assembly we can see them in the part number list, but we cannot actually select them and get the right values. Please note, we are doing this entirely through the TB configurator and are not going into the back door of the database as our VAR has accused us of doing.

The low height fasteners are apparently not an ANSI/ISO standard and it has been suggested this is the problem. I do not understand why that should be an issue since we are using all the same values except the head height. Besides, if this only works with "standard" values, then why is there even the ability to change these values in the TB configurator?

Have any of you encountered this or can shed some light on this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Updraft,
Which version of SW?
Are you using the toolbox on network or individual computer?
You can add a new part as low-head and configure

We have been using our customized TB since we got SWX2009 here. We are now on 2012 and it is networked. It has been wonderful with our company fasteners. I wonder why more people don't take advantage of this type of arrangement.

How would you "add the new part as low-head and configure"?

I recently had problems adding a standard fastener that didn't exist in the Toolbox. After a lot of research from technical support we discovered that when adding or modifying, you need to ensure you have the right decimal places in each of the configurations' numbers. i.e. a "1" is different from a "1.0". Make sure you are matching with other configurations the number of decimal places.
