Section views can only be done with planar cutting plane lines.
What you want is not possible.
If you have seen this before then it was not done correctly.

Well yes you can. Do you have the PMI license? This is the only way we have done this. Go into your model, Create a PMI section. Now you will need to find the PMI section view Legacy. This will have to be done, right click go to customize toolbars. On the commands tab do a search for Section. Then add this to your toolbar.

Use this command, sketch an arc, use this arc to cut your model. Another thing make sure you have your model views setup correctly when making your section. Now you can process this view to your 2D drawing. This is a quick mention of commands. If you want I can make an video.

Also your lines and arcs are splines, it will be very difficult to measure to. We usually have to sketch lines on top of our geometry to get what we want.

Edit

I attached a quick example. It is not perfect, but we need to do this every so often. Especially for Helical Described features. We have to sketch in our Section lines.

We have no PMI license, but i would like to see your video. Thanks
