Hi,
I have a cube(solid) which intersects a "s" shaped surface. This surface contains several surfaces. I would like to cut the solid to entire surface. I am guessing to join cutting surfaces, then use the cut comand?. But I have no expierence using cut in this fashion. Is this the proper way to go about it?, and if so how do I properly use the cut or trim command. Thank you ion advanced!.

Hi,

In v4 you can create a skin (LIMIT2->SKIN->CREATE) by joining your surfaces.

After that you can split your solid with the new skin (be sure that your new skin is not too short in order to split the solid).

Hi Vinn,

Yes V5 does work in a similar way,
in the GSD workbench use the JOIN command to join the surfaces, change to the PART workbench and use the SPLIT
command to cut the solid.
When you select the joined surface as the cutting tool the arrows will point towards the part of the solid that will be kept. Select the arrows to point the other way if you want to change the part of the solid that is kept.

Hope this helps.
