Cycled Cooling

Is anyone familiar with the concept of Cycled Cooling? From what I understand, it is a process used in Plastic Injection Molding to help reduce cycle time. Vaguely, the process constitutes heating the mold to a temperature as close as possible to the melt temperature, then, after injection, cooling the tool to some desired temperature.

Any help would be appreciated.
