Hi All,

I am working on an impact modeling in ABAQUS/Explicit and currently, I am trying to initiate damage to my model using user subroutine VUSDFLD. I had no luck running the VUSDFLD, ABAQUS exited with errors and there was no error messages in the status file or any other files. So, I am kind of lost where to go next or where to look for this error. I would appreciate it if someone could suggest a simple way to start with damage modeling in ABAQUS , it does not have to be impact test. Then from there I could go further and do my impact damage modeling.

Thanks

Have you tried putting some debugging code in you subroutine to make sure the sim is getting to the point where it tries to run it or are there errors before that? That's where I would start.

Hey DanStro

Thanks for your reply. I have not put any debugging code in my subroutine. How would you do that? I know for sure that my simulation go through the input processing (run pre) but once the analysis starts, ABAQUS exists with an error without saying what is the error.

I usually just start with some basic print commands that let me know where it is at. You can use them to track down exactly where it is stopping.

I got what you meant by debugging code. Thank you for the suggestion.
