Dear all,
I am doing mode superposition analysis in ANSYS mechanical, where I am interested in modal analysis in one of its steps.
In Ansys is it possible to apply damping ratio for particular modes? i.e different damping ratios for different modes.
e.g. I have obtained the modal analysis in which I have identified certain modes which will be used in further mode superposition ,I am interested in applying damping ratios for those modes
If anybody has an idea please share.
Thanking you in advance

Hi Drej,
Thanks for reply, I looked at the command MDAMP, STLOC, V1, V2, V3, V4, V5, V6,but not clear about STLOC & V1,V2,V3 part.
Kindly clear in my case. I have four mode 1,2,3,4 which is heave, pitch, two noded, and three noded of ship. I would like to apply 0.8 & 0.7 to 2 noded and 3 noded respectively. Then ansys command will be as follows
MDAMP, , 0, 0, 0.8, 0.7, ???
Thanxs in advance .
