Hello everybody

In flotation, it is very important to control the level of the slurry contained into flotation cells banks. This is acomplished by flow control valves installed into drop boxes between flotation cells banks. The common valve is a couple of dart valves that come in and out of an orificce or grommet. The size of the dart or conical plug and the diameter of the grommets, has to do with the control ability of this kind of valves. Not only have to have the capacity to let the full flow rate to flow through the flotation line, but also, tha capacity of control the variation of this flow rate. Then, the correct sizing of this valves is really important.

Someone of you know how to size them?

Eduardo Jimenez,
I never heard of a "Dart" Valve. Maybe it is a term used only in your industry.

Maybe you should look at what we call a "Needle" Valve? Look through the images below and pick the one that looks good to you, (click around) see if you can contact the manufacturer for the information you need.

Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results
