Davit-arm API Standard? 1

Hello,

I am looking for som help regarding a davit-arm,
It is a simple structure, and is not to be used for any life rafts or anything, only cargo handling.

API spec 2C scope says this: "This specification is not intended to be employed
for the design, fabrication, and testing of davits,
and/or emergency escape devices"

A simple figure here:

API spec 2c is the only standard i have found regarding lifting devices.
Is API Spec 2c relevant for this? or is there any other API standards that can be used here?

API 650 paragraph 5.8.3.5 does state about hinge or davit. But there is no detail skerch. It is up to the tank designer.

The API reference is for a manway cover plate, inserted because people's feet were getting crushed by falling manway cover plates. There is no detail for it, each contractor has their own. For yours, I would worry equally about the structure it was attached to.

A manway davit arm is a first cousin to a pedestal jib-crane.... Is this what you really want ????

You say that you are going to move cargo... But the length of the arm in your sketch is only 1000 mm.... Is this what you want ??

There are many ways to mount these devices...

Review designs of a 1 ton jib crane to get an idea of the size of components you will need.

Purchase a quality designed , properly fabricated and tested US crane from a US vendor....
