Required to know about cnc with steady rest.. we manufacture rear axle shafts.. recently getting a prominent tool mark on our axle shafts where we clamp with steady rest.for ref have uploaded a pic of that..kindly required ur expert views on it..

Please post a picture of your steady rest with axle installed.

I assume the "tool mark" is the line in this attachment.

If the steady rest uses roller bearings, were they changed before the mark started appearing?

Was a crash reported at about the time of the mark beginning ?

yes steady rest uses roller bearings and still new and havenot changed them.there was no crash reported at the time of mark beginning..please find the axle shaft installed on machine with steady rest.
