What testing is required in B165?
Yes it says that you can use either, but if this if Code use then Hydro will be required at some point.
The test acceptance criteria for the ET is in the General spec, B829.
This is the important part since it sets the sensitivity.
It does give the option of using a drill hole or a transverse notch for calibration.
The drilled hole is commonly used on tubing and small pipe, with larger sizes (say over 2") using the notch.
The test methods are E426 or E571, these are just ordinary.
You don't really need to specify anything other than just saying ET, the specs then force you to follow these rules.
