Any body has any experience in working in subjet areas. I am specifically intersted in finding out about steam only decoking in these furnaces

I have but we also used air to burn off the coke so the furnace had to be switched to a decoking system for the step. We would start off with 100% steam and then slowly bleed in air, watching the C02 level out of the furnace. As the C02 dropped off, we would go to the next amount of air and then continue to the maximum setting. It's been a while ago to remember the specifics.

What do you want to know about steam only decoke,

I have experience in the subject; I worked several years in a Ethylene Plant and currently in an EPC.

Regards

Mike

Steam decoking is generally milder than steam air decoking.
Also, steam decoking can be done when the furnace is still lined up to the process, whereas the furnace must be lined up to decoking drum away from the process for steam/air decoking.
