When using the split feature I'm getting an error message that says "The default templates are not valid.
The problems can be resolved by correcting the default templates under the options dialog. Do you want to continue
with a blank document".
So when I go to Options> Default Templates.... and try and change the location of where my templates are, I'm not able to
enter a new location. I click on the browse link.... no results. I try and delete the current address in the box and am
unable to delete the address.

I'm just getting set up using 2013.... so trying to get the issues worked out.

Any insights how to allow the system to let me change the location?
Thanks

Make sure you don't have any documents open when trying to change the location. Also, make sure that you have admin rights on your machine.

Thanks Jeff.... having no documents open was the solution.

The solution I found was by going to the Default templates, clicking the "..." and simply reselecting the same templates it alreayd sees. Then the problem goes way.

Thanks Scott... the problem was I was clicking the "...." and nothing was happening. I had a document open at the time,
thus the issue. Soon as I closed the document, as per Jeff's suggestion, problem solved. The other issue of the system not
being able to find my templates, is my customized templates were placed in a folder location separate from the system's file
location.... just needed to redirect to the correct location. Thanks for the follow up.

yeah that would be right.... I usually don't have anything open when I do that and after I select the templates I close SW out so the info is saved in the Registry.
