define surface?

Hello everyone.

I build a 3D block. then i made partition for the block to define different properties. Hence the block is divided into several layers. For some reason i could not define a surface for one of the inner layers.

When i could Not select the surface of that inner layer. That is why i could not define the surface.

Any body can help me, how can i overcome that problem?

Go to the Mesh module and then "create a mesh part". Switch to the mesh part just created and go to mesh module again. Delete the elements adjacent to the surface of interest. Create a surface. Undo element deletion. Create assembly with this new mesh part. .. ..

I follow your advice, but i still could not select the face to make surface.

So the problem is Abaqus does not allow me to select that face.

I noticed that i can make a set, but i can NOT make a surface!!

Do you know what is wrong?

Is there any idea, how can i solve this problem?
Again, the problem is Abaqus does not allow to select a face to make a surface. i do not know what is the reason.
