Does anyone have a good definition of accuracy vs. resolution vs. repeatability?

Thanks,

Steve

Accuracy = how close measurement readings are to the true value
Resolution (discrimination)= the smallest graduation of an instrument that you can record
Repetability = the range of readings obtained by repeating measurements by the same operator on the same instrument and the same part.

I always consider precision to be how close the measurement readings are to the true value.
In addition I consider accuracy to be the range of readings obtained by repeating measurements by the same operator on the same instrument and the same part (which may be far from close to the true value). I have the same interpretation on resolution as stel8.

Jack.
