Reference:
1. IEEE Std 100-1992 "The New IEEE Standard Dictionary of Electrical and Electronics Terms" 5th Edition
Reference 1 defines "Work" as "The work done by a force is dot product of line integral of the force. See "Line Integral."" The "Line Integral" is:
I=Integral from a to b of (V x cos(theta) x ds
=Integral from a to b of V . ds
=Integral from a to b of (Vx dx + Vy dy + Vz dz)
I is line integral
V is vector of magnitude |V|
ds is element of path
theta is angle between V and ds
