Hi Guys,
Im currently working on a project where the structural arrangement composed of Lateral Force Resisting System around the perimeter and Gravity Internal Frames. Section 1633.2.4 paragraph 2 of UBC 97 states that "For elements not part of the lateral-force-resisting system, the forces induced by the EXPECTED DEFORMATION may be considered as ultimate or factored loads" im not quite sure if the MOMENTS and SHEAR Stresses due EXPECTED DEFORMATION refers to the Maximum Elastic Response Displacement (DeltaS) or in other words design Design Desplacement not the MAXIMUM INELASTIC RESPONSE DISPLACEMENT (DeltaM). and if so the load combination would be 1.2DL + f1LL + DeltaAS
