Deformed Bar Anchor Welds

I'm trying to determine the strength of a full-fusion weld of a deformed bar anchor to a base plate using a stud gun. It's my understanding that there is no additional weld material (such as for a fillet weld), only the metal from the base plate and the anchor. It seems to me that the capacity of the weld would be the slightly increased capacity of the anchor itself. I'm looking for tension and shear capacities. Thanks.

If this is a full fusion weld using a stud gun, I would presume the strength of the weld fusion zone would be equal to the stregnth of the bar because this is an autogenous weld (no filler metal). So, for purposes of calculation, one could make the assumption that the tensile and shear strength properties of the weld region would approximate the tensile and shear stregnth properties of the bar. Of course, if you don't have 100% fusion, the strength properties of the weld fusion zone will be reduced by some percentage, and here is where a weld stregnth reduction factor would be used.
