degree symbol in catia v5 wont display 2

How do I make a degree symbol display with catia v5
I can type in the ascii numbers and have the degree symbol show up in the text input box, but on the drawing all that shows is a underscore line.

What font are you using? Try changing it. Not every font supports all of the extended ASCII characters.

I think you can use the insert symbol toolbar.

as a beginner I do not know of all the available options and of cours I am under deadline pressures to push out drawings.

Make sure your current environment is compatible with the files you're working with. If you're working from files from a customer, ask them for help in setting up a proper environment for this project. Otherwise, not only will you have problems working with the files they send you, but they will also have problems with the files you send them.
