I've recently installed R18 and am having trouble with deleted drawing dimensions. When using the "Generate Dimensions" command, I delete the dimensions which are not required in a view. However, now those deleted dimensions can not be retrieved in any other views or even the original view. This was not the case in R17...its as though they are gone for good. Is there a setting within catia that is set differently in my new install?
The deleted dimensions show on the model, when the option "Excluded constarints" is selected in the "Genenerated Dimension Analysis" window of the "Generated dimension" command.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

something else I am noticing is that if I cut a dimension from one view and paste it into another view, it workds good. However, if I use the command "Generate Dimensions" again, all the pasted dimensions disappear? Those dimensions are like those that I deleted...I can't get them to reappear.

I believe I solved my issues. When you use the "Generate Dimensions" command, there is a "Retrieve excluded constraints" button on the "Dimension Generation Filters" window. I'm not sure that was there in previous releases? I didn't even realize it was a button and it is greyed out if there are no excluded dimensions. Once I selected it during the dimension creation, my dimensions reappeared.
In regards to the pasted dimensions disappearing when the "Generate Dimensions" command is applied, it appears to be because I had turned on the "Generate dimensions when updating the sheet" setting in options (Mechanical design==>drafting==>Generation tab).
