Hi,
What is the effect of liquid density on:
1/ Centrifugal pump's hydraulic power?
2/ AC motor amperage load?
Thanks.

2/ I meant "increase".
3/ I'll read Cameron to consolidate.

Sheiko,
I'm glad you correted #2. I was afraid BigInch was going to have to get out of bed and go back to his computer. You'll do well to follow through on #3.

I realize now that the source of my question arose from a misanderstanding:
In the quote:
"...the horsepower or work per barrel of liquid pumped remains constant...",
I had understood:
"...(horsepower) or (work per barrel) remains constant..." instead of:
"...(horsepower or work) per barrel remains constant...".

"We don't believe things because they are true, things are true because we believe them."

That phrase is full of potential trouble.

Since power does not equal work, I think it should say "and" rather than "or". (and no, "and/or", is not a word. "And" is inclusive, "Or" is exclusive, so "and/or" means nothing.)

work = force x distance
power = force x distance/time = the time rate of doing work.

Let's see if you do understand. Is it work that remains constant, power that remains constant, or is it both that remain constant?

I agree: power and work.
