i am searching the dependence of orifice discharge coefficient on orifice length (what is the change of dicharge coefficient on different orifice lengths)
for example : at given flow, orifice diameter and pressure drop change orifice length. what is the flow change?
is there some equation?

thank you

Hooper uses the permanent pressure drop from a thin, sharp orifice as a basis and then applies a multiplier to correct for the L/D ratio. He gives an equation for the multiplier that is valid for 0.05 < L/D < 5.

The reference is : William B. Hooper, Calculate Head Loss Caused by Change in Pipe Size, Chemical Engineering, Nov 7, 1988, pgs 89-92.

Are you speaking of orifice thickness or the distance/position of the pressure taps? It's not clear to me which it is.

Good luck,

I am speaking of orifice length not tap position.
