Design criteria for shaft frame

Dear gents,

I am very new to the world of structural engineering and i got a 3 story elevator shaft work. (steel framed shaft with point supported glass paneling).
I cant find any relevant code for elevator shaft and i dont know much about the loads coming on the frame from elevator cab.
1) What all loads will act on the steel frame and also on the glass? Mainly my confusion is regarding the load coming from the elevator cab. what will be the load coming and what will be the nature of loading. (The concept of How the load transfer from elevator car to steel frame)
2) What will be the deflection limit for the steel as well as glass?

Please please help me on above things. Thanks in advance.

*The lift car is running between ground floor and second floor. total 12 meter height

You may want to check local jurisdictions to see what requirements they have for elevators. Some require pits with minimum depths from 4' to 5.5', some require access ladders to the pit as well as minimum illumination.

If hydraulic, then load is at the bottom and shaft takes care of braking forces and any lateral loading.

Should have elev mechanical room in close proximity to the elevator.

Should talk to the elevator supplier (I usually spec one, with app'd alt).
