Hello Fellow Engineers,
I am writing because I am currently designing an internally-fed drum filter for wastewater pre-treatment. The goal of the pre-treatment is to get rid of solids (minerals, metals, etc.) in the wastewater. My questions regarding the design are the following:
- I know that most internally fed drum filters are designed with a spreader plate, allowing the sludge (3.5 to 5% Dry solid contents) to settle more evenly on the drum filter. I am struggling to find any online resources to help design this part. Does anyone have any tips/ resources I could use to help me design this?
- Is there any literature on pre-filtration drum filters like the ones I will be designing? The only resources I have found are more on the range of microns whereas I am looking more in the tens of mm, and not looking to filter out organics.
Hopefully I have put enough details! If you have any questions please let me know!
Thank you
