Hello All,

How do i treat the loading combinations for a lifting beam with a trolley? and can the trolley loading be considered as dynamic or static?

Need a sketch here to understand what you mean and a bit more explanation as its rather opaque to me

There is still dead load (lift beam, hoist, trolley).
The payload on the hoist is live load.
The live load is essentially dynamic and AISC for example requires an impact factor (vertically for hoists and laterally for bridge cranes and trolleys).

I don't know what the various codes might say, but surely anything that moves is POTENTIALLY dynamic.

See "Bottom Flange Bending Capacity" in the attached.
