DESIGN TO VARIOUS STANDARDS OF PRACTICE

Hi All,
Can some one please tell if it is permissible to design a facility such as a Fixed Offshore Platform to both American and British/Eurocodes.

I have noticed Foundation Design made to API-RP-2A specifications while other components are either designed to British Code or European Norms.

In my earlier training, I was told this was not admissible.

As far as I know, they all still have their own standards. If the platform is fixed, then why not use the standards that apply to the fixed point?
