does anyone know where i can find a detailed explanation and theory of desmodronic timing? cause i know that its a system for reducing (or preventing, i dunno) valve harmonics. But i want to know exactly how ducatti engines do it. how the system works and its components. any help will be greatly appreciated as i have done a lot of searching and i havent found satisfactory explanations or diagrams of the system, only references to it.

Your request is completely off topic for this forum, but I'm feeling nice. The system uses another cam lobe to pull the valve shut, in addition to the standard cam lobe to open. Very light valve springs are used to help with sealing during starting. Check out the link: .
