Hey all. We just switched from SE to NX and are having an issue.

Anyone know how to get the boundary of the actual detail view to show up inthe draft? The detail in the parent view shows the boundary, be it circular or whatever profile I draw, but the associated detail view will not show the boundary as given in the parent view.

All my layers are on in the sheet and the view and the detail tab under style shows the detail to have border line type and thickness associated with it to evail.

Thanks

update : this only applies to non-cicular detail view borders. Circular view borders show in the detail view just fine.

We are not aware of any Drafting Standard which supports the inclusion of borders for non-circular detailed views. In fact, most standards don't officially provide support for anything other than circular detailed views, with or without a border.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Expand the view & draw your view boundary exactly as you want to see it. Un-expand the view and then redefine the view manually to be larger than the boundary you have just drawn & OK/Apply. Once you can see the view boundary that you have drawn, you can then use those curves to define the view boundary.

Not pretty or automated but it should work.

Thanks everyone. This gets me what I need.

We have this problem on our system sometimes. To fix it, go to Format/Visible in View (in Drafting), select the detail view you want in the list (not on the sheet because it will take you to the select layer dialogue) and underneath the list of views click 'Reset to Global'. That will reset the view and bring the curves back.

I just re-read your second post and realised you meant for non-circular detail views. I'm not sure if this will work for these views but you can try if you didn't know about this. Hope it helps
