Hi all,

I am trying to setup a template that automatically puts some custom text in the label of views.

For example, a new section view will put the text label under the view with "A-A" or whatever the name of the section is.

I would like to make it so that every new section I create is prepended with "Section", so that views created would automatically create the label "Section A-A"

Is this possible?

Thanks

Regards,

You don't need to do that in a template - ProE does this by default when you create a section.

Thanks for your reply robertib, but if it was doing it by defualt I wouldn't be asking the question.

If your Pro/E automatically creates the label "Section A-A" then there must be something different with my 'setup', as where I work, most of the machines just create a label "A-A".

So if we are experiencing different results, then there must be a config file somewhere controllig it, which is therefore capable of being modified.

Cheers.

Try looking in the 'Drawing Options' for a setting called 'view_note'. This can be set as either 'std_ansi' or 'std_din'. 'std_din' will create views without the words
SECTION", "DETAIL", etc. while 'std_ansi' adds them to the views.

Hope this helps.
