I'm working for an architectural office around New York City. We're design our our sewer system. Can anybody help me with any source for dentention tank and orifice calculation for a storm sewer system? Thanks

Check contech-cpi.com, go to applications and products and somewhere in there you can request a CD that contains design software.
 
I would highly recommend subbing this out to a licensed stormwater engineer. Here in PA, it would be required; if it isn't there, one could save you a lot of time, money and aggrevation. Not to mention liability.
 
There are a number of different methods for calculating a detention storage volume. The local ordinace should tell you the method(s) that are required and the criteria for designing the detention basin. The equations for orifices can be found in any hydraulic engineering handbook. I would agree with iha that subbing this work out to an experienced engineer is going to save you a lot of time and money. Then you'll know what is involved and can decide if you want to tackle the next job.
