Does someone know of a df/dt relay whose setting can be changed via DNP 3 or Modbus command? We are designing a special protection scheme wherein df/dt set point of the relay will be altered via DNP or Modbus command from EMS(energy management system)depending upon system inertia i.e. depending on how many generators are online at given time

How many possible settings are there? If several discreet settings are needed, setting groups might be used.

Using the SEL-700G as an example, it has four df/dt settings. I'd set as many of those four and put them in the trip equation with each ANDed with a Remote Bit set via DNP. That way the DNP can select while to use. If those four aren't enough the relay has three groups and you can wind up with a total of 12 settings, all controlled through DNP without the horrid risk of settings being changes via DNP.

It is not related to this post, but I saw your post three years ago asking for BBC distance relay LIZ613 manual. Do you still have that manual?
Thanks a lot.
