Hi All,

I have a migrated drawing which is given for fixing few dimensions. Diameter dimensions in the drawing were migrated as shown in figure1 and the newly placed dimension is appearing as shown in figure2. Can any one of you help me to find out which setting is governing this behaviour.

Thanks in advance

Koutilya

OK, first, what version of NX are you running?

I assume the issue is that you would like your new dimensions to look like the ones that were created during the conversion process, correct? What you need to discover first is which font were the old dimensions created with. To do this, go to...

Information -> Object...

...and select one of these converted dimensions (the ones in 'figure1') and hit OK. When the listing window opens, scroll down to where you'll find a section labeled 'Text Parameters' and there it will indicate the 'Font'. Once you know that you have two choices, either edit the existing (converted) dimensions using the default font or else change the default to whatever was the font used to create the converted dimensions and use that for all of your newly added dimensions.

Hi John,

Thanks for your timely reply. But in the example i showed i am seeing ideas_simplex font for both the dimensions. But, still there is a descripancy between the way how diameter symbol Ø looks like. Is there any other setting governing this behaviour.

Is this a dimension or a note? And what version of NX are you running?

The only other thing that I can think of is that someone has modified the font library and added an additional Phi (AKD Diameter) symbol to the 'ideas_simplex.fnt' file. Try selecting first one text obeject, pressing MB3 and selecting 'Style...' and go to the 'Radial' tab and see what option is set for the 'Diameter Symbol'. Repeat this for the other text object. Are they using the same symbol? If not, set them to be the same.

Hi John,

That is dimension only and i am using NX8.5. The part was migrated to NX6.0, so the symbol in 'figure1' is coming from NX6.0 and the symbol in 'figure2' is placed using NX8.5. Also, i checked in the Radial Tab and both the dimensions are using same option.

I don't know what else to try.
