The diaphragm capacities are significantly different in Hilti Profis software and Vulcraft's software. What am I missing here ? (Please see the screenshots)

The results are about 50% different. Nucor clearly uses ASD. If Hilti is using LRFD, that would explain the difference.

Hilti doesn't indicate what, if any, Resistance or Safety factors it is or isn't using. Unless there's a settings page to access that'll tell you, that usually means it isn't using either. Just doing a table lookup of the raw value. Then it's up to you to use it appropriately.

Note that a Hilti #10 screw is not the same as a regular #10 screw. there are two different options in the hilti pull down menu. This is probably a small portion of the difference you see.

I wonder if a 5/8" diameter puddle weld is the same as a 5/8" visible diameter spot weld. I don't spec spot welds, but I recall that there's some regional variations about what is measured when you spec a spot weld. If it were me, I`d spend a little time looking into that.

phamEng - Hilti does allow you to pick ASD or LRFD and it does provide the reducation factors, it's just not shown in the summary sheet that Samwise clipped.

Yeah , the issue was Hilti was defaulting it to LRFD while I had the Vulcraft calculator for ASD. Also 5/8" puddle weld is same as Arc Spot weld. Thanks for the help
