would like to find out if i can use jetA1 in my toyota landcruiser,I remember using parafin mixed with two stroke oil in our tractors on the farm , and have come across 1000litres of helicopter fuel , and thought it is very similar to parafin , so if i mix it with two stroke oil or with top end cylinder lubricamt will it have any detremental or negative effect on my vehicle

You should check to see if this would void your warrenty.

What year is this vehicle?

Does the engine use EGR?

I would worry that the lubricity of the Jet A1 fuel might not be good enough for a modern high pressure common rail system.

Some diesel engine manufactures actually say that they don't care what the fuel is called, as long as it meets certain specs.

Toyota may have such a fuel standard.

Jet fuel probably has a shelf life, just as diesel fuel does. Example: fungus can grow, thus ruining the fuel.

IF the landcruiser has a Diesel engine, it will probably run okay on jet fuel. A little oil mixed in will help the injection pump survive. Don't expect warranty coverage.

If the landcruiser has a SI engine, it will not like jet fuel at all.

thanks gents, yes it is a diesel engine , a 1999 HZJ75 series, and in terms of warranty i don't have one, , what would you say to mix the oil in at like a ratio, i have been told twenty percent aswell as 2 percent, big difference between those figures anyone else have any idea.

What kind of fuel was available in your area in 1999, specifically sulfur content? Sulfur acts like a lubricant, so if it was built for low sulfur you wouldn't need much oil.
