I hope this is right place for this post.
We use the small diesel fuel heaters for heating material on moving vehicles. (like semi heaters and the like). These little heaters (45000BTU) have a purge cycle that is required after the heater is shut off. This purge cycle is 3 minutes long. Apparently the if the gasses are not removed from the combustion chamber then they will continue to heat up more and more each time the furnace is cycled (less than 3 minutes) until eventually the flame sensor and exhaust fan melt. We have seen this in our application that does not have a 3 minute purge. This has only happened once in the year it has been in service(still to many times). I have been given the project of fixing the electrical system on this product and unless the heating system is completely redesigned (use heat exchangers,etc) I need to find a similar heater that is fairly compact that will do the same job. It must allow the furnace to be cycled with 30-60 second increments. Is this possible? The one we are using now is made by proheat (teleflex canada) and is their model X45-12. The size of the replacement furnace can not be larger than this unit. Can any help? Thanks for any info.
