What is the difference in the Bodies menu between a Construction Geometry point and a Construction Geometry marker? When do we have to use insted of the other?

I've never understand why they bother with points, since a marker can do anything a point can do and a whole lot else. A point is a simple location in 3d space which is attached to a body or ground, whereas a marker is an oriented 3d location, that is it has its own 3d coordinate system. If you attempt to do anything with a point View creates a marker at the same location. So my guess is backwards compatibility and a point uses less memory and that used to be important.
