Does a pipe fitting meeting ASTM A 105 meet or exceed a "Class 300 malleable or ductile iron" fitting? Or am I talking apples and oranges....

You are talking apples and lemons along with few oranges.
The A105 fitting is CS forging and the other two are cast fittings. There is big difference in strength and acceptable usage.

Come back if you need something specific.

Thanks Unclesyd, specifically I was trying to assess whether an A 105 fitting was equivelent to a malleable cast fitting for a fixed CO2 gas fire extinguishing system. So bottom line is the A 105 fitting superior in strength for this pressure and temperature application (co2 basically freezes the pipe)?
