Hello,

What is the difference in the physical meaning in calculations of force on a body in an electrostatic field using Maxwell stress tensor through the command fmagsum and using the command emft. ANSYS 9 documentation recommends using emft to calculate force on the body in an electrostatic field. However, when I make calculation using fmagsum as well as using emft, the two methods give different answers.

Thank you in advance,

John

Hello,

May be I didn't formulate my question correctly but my question is:
1) What is the difference between fmagsum and emft?
2) In the context of electrostatic analysis, how do I use both commands?

John

Furthermore, I tried using both emft and fmagsum and the results from emft are several orders of magnitude larger than that of fmagsum.
