Different thickness field for each shell side

Hello all,

I am looking for a way to define two different scalar fields for the same shell element. The geometry I want to represent is like a cylinder with a longitudinal hole, and I want to discretize it with shell elements. My idea is to define a different thickness function for each side of the shell, using an offset in the zone where the hole is.

I attach a simplified section of the cilinder for an easier understanding.

My question is: is it possible?

Thanks.

So you want to use a single layer of shell elements, even for the area with holes?

Thanks for answering.

That was my idea if it is possible but I am open to other ways of doing it. This piece is part of a very big model with many other parts, all modelized by shells, so that's why I want to do it. If you know how to do it with more than one layer, please explain me how, because it could be fine for me.
