I would like to be able to have different configurations of the same parts to be able to compare weight distribution and center of gravity.
The problem is, If I put all my parts in a product and then save it as a different product, the links are all still there so when I move parts in the new product, they move in the first one also.
I tried to do different scenes in a products so once I would have place my parts correctly, I would apply the scene to the assembly and then calculate the center of gravity. BUT working whithout constraints is a real mess.

Thank you for your answers

You answered your own question. You should work with part constraints within the product. Publish constraint geometry then build it this way.

Product A
Product B
Part A
Part B
Part C

Constrain the items.
Copy/Paste Special --> Break link Product B

This will result in Product C
Part A
Part B
Part C
modify constraints or change parts, add parts,...

Instance copies will be your friend.

Hi,

This can be done in different ways, Derek suggestions is good.

Another way is to use New From option. Take a look here , probably you will understand more. When you are using New From , I believe you can rename also everything.

Then just load your main products versions in a single one to compare them.

Fernando
