Dimension & Text size in multiple viewports

Help Please.... New to draftsight and returning to CAD after many years in the field.
If I draw both the plan and elevation views of a structure in model space, dimension and add text. When I create multiple viewports in paper space either the text is excessively large in one view and ok in the other or ok in one and unreadable in the other when plotted.
Is there a way to set up so that text heights are the same?
An 'idiots guide' would be much appreciated...

Paper space (layouts) are intended to be the place where you put dimensions and text. The "proper" way to do it is to not have anything other than the model (drawing objects) in model space. That being said, I think there is an option to "scale to viewport" or "match viewport scale" or something like that. That might be only for dimensions, not text.

Thanks tr1ntx, I tried the way you suggested but I am still getting the same problem.
I seam to remember back in the day with AutoCAD that you had to set a scale for your viewport and then a scale factor for the text / dimension to get them to display at an acceptable size, but I cant find anything similar if draftsight online help etc.

There is a download available, "Getting Started with DraftSight" or "Guide to Getting Started with DraftSight" or something like that. Do a search and you should find it. That's how I did. I haven't read the whole thing, so I don't know what all is in there. I don't use paperspace because I can't get everyone else onboard.

I think I remember the same thing you do about AutoCAD. There's one of those ON/OFF settings for "match viewport scale".

Hey! I remember finally loaded DS on this laptop.

Open Tools menu, select Options at the bottom.
Options dialog box will pop up.
On the left side, there is a gray box with 6 categories. Click on "Drafting Styles".
It will have 5 categories, probably all will be closed. Click on the "+" box beside "Dimension".
Dimension category will have a bunch of sub-categories. Click on the "+" box beside "Fit".
Under the Fit category, click on the "+" box beside "Dimension scale".
Click on the selection bubble for "Scale dimensions according to sheet". There you go.
