Dimension scaling of drawing objects in Draft 1

Hello,
I am adding some additional circles in a Draft to better show how an arc in one of the displayed Parts is centered. I then add some dimensions to this circle.
However, the scale of the dimensions applied to the circle are not that of the Part (here 2:1), but rather the dimensions on the page.

I managed to randomly get one of these circles to adopt the scale of the Part object (experimenting with Rigid Set), but I didn't manage to find the systematic approach to linking Parts with these additional drawing objects.
Could someone please advise on the best procedure?

(Still using SE V20, but I guess this is also an issue in newer ST versions...)

Hello,

Just to make sure I understand your question:
1. You want to add a circle to a draft view of a part to provide additional detail
2. The draft view is 2:1
3. You draw a circle on the draft view but it is not at the correct scale.

If these assumptions are correct, are you using the "draw in view" tool? It's available by right clicking on the draft view and selecting it from the dialogue box.

Creating geometry using draw-in-view will honor the scale of the view. Also, it will follow the view if you move it around. If you only draw on the sheet, the geometry might not.

Hi Mark,

Glad that worked for you. On the subject of draw in view, if you ever want to place text while using draw in view, use the text tool and not the callout tool. Only the text tool will follow the scale of the view. I use the callout tool for all other labeling and text on drawings.
