I'm working with 2.25'' Greek Ascoloy which needs to be heat treated to 45-50 HRC. I need to know what the material will do dimensionally during heat treating. I'm wanting to establish pre-machine dimensional parameters. I would like to finish grind to drawing requirements after heat treating. Unfortunately I have never worked with this type of steel.

The fancy name for 418 martensitic stainless.
What heat treatment are you using?
I would guess that you could estimate from 410 and 420 data, but they don't have any Ni in them so it will only be approx.
Are you using a double temper?

Neither should your protection

I'm having the heat treat operation done by an outside supplier. The spec is 2759/5.
