In drawings, I am unable to show dimensions to a hidden line. Even if I change the view to wireframe (where all lines are solid) I still can't select the hidden lines. Is there a setting to allow this?

Thanks,
Matt

You should not dimension hidden lines. The best practice is to dimension in a section view.

I tend to agree with that. However sometimes I find it best not to cloud a drawing with section views.

TheTick: You got me to the right place. I found "Selection through transparency" to already be enabled. "Allow Selection in wireframe and HLV modes" which is on the same screen did the trick.

Thanks!

MattP, You should agree with it. Clouding a dwg with section views is better than having hidden lines dimensioned and having a part machined wrong. It is also per drafting stds.

You could always move the detail/section views to another sheet if it gets too cluttered.
